The meeting of the National Initiative for Efrin and the International Association for Human Rights in Germany
On Sunday, February 18, The National Initiative for Efrin held a meeting with Germany’s International Association for Human Rights. This meeting was held under the frame of expanding the National Initiative relations with the international human rights organizations and institutions, and under the rim of the relentless effort to convey the voice of occupied Efrin. The Turkish army occupies Efrin with its Syrian mercenaries who practice all kinds of violations and war crimes against its people and nature.
The meeting held on the Zoom platform, in the presence of representatives of the initiative and the international association.
The National Initiative for Efrin was represented by the members of the diplomatic committee in the initiative: Mr. Gerkin Nebo, Mr. Jan Hassan, Mr. Ahmed Mustafa and Mrs. Delsha Othman. The International Association for Human Rights in Germany was attended by Mr. Carl Haven, a former director of the Association in Frankfurt and an active member of the International Association for Human Rights in Germany. Mr. Khalil Al-Rasho, head of the Middle East department at the International Association for Human Rights, also attended the meeting.
The meeting’s essential goal was to introduce the National Initiative for Efrin, the tasks it has set, and the goals that it aspired to achieve through its agenda, projects, and regular activities. The initiative also presented its perceptions and vision of providing help to the forcibly displaced Efrin people in al-Shahba and other areas. As well as discussing ways to stop the violations of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries in Efrin, and to ensure the safe, free and dignified return of these forcibly displaced people with an international guarantees to Efrin “çiyayê kurmênc”.
The International Association for Human Rights in Germany was positiv, supportive, and understanding of all violations against the Kurdish people and the religious minorities in Efrin region. The Association pledged to perpetuate meetings and relations and start small projects to build mutual trust, seriousness, and responsibility leading to steps and activities that both will work on together.
